From Mission to Movement: What Comes Next… Fundraiser Event— Silent Auction June 4th
Last month, we shared a clearer picture of who we are and the problem we’re working to solve—the temporary financial gap that prevents seniors and veterans from accessing the care they already qualify for. Since then, something meaningful has begun to happen: people are stepping in.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve met with assisted living communities, healthcare professionals, and local partners across Utah. One thing has become very clear—this problem isn’t theoretical. It’s happening every single day. Providers see it, families feel it, and seniors live it. We’ve heard the same story again and again: someone is a great fit for care, they need support, but financially they fall just short. And in that moment, there usually isn’t a clear solution. What’s been encouraging is how many people are leaning in—asking how they can help and wanting to be part of something that actually addresses the issue.
That’s what led us to take the next step. On June 4th, we’re hosting our first major fundraising effort, The Close the Golden Gap Fundraiser. This won’t be a formal or distant event—it’s an opportunity to bring people together in a meaningful, genuine way. The goal is simple: to build the support needed so that when someone falls into this gap, there is a solution in place. Something practical. Something immediate.
Our goal this year is to raise $500,000 to help 25 seniors transition into assisted living.
Each donation directly supports housing, meals, and care at the assisted living community of their choice for up to 13 months. After that, the New Choices Waiver begins—and Golden Gap Foundation steps back, allowing us to help the next senior in need.
While $500,000 may sound ambitious, it represents something very tangible—25 individuals gaining stability, 25 families finding relief, and 25 situations where the outcome looks completely different because support was available at the right time.
The evening itself will be simple—good food, meaningful conversations, a silent auction supported by local businesses, and a few moments of fun along the way. But what matters most is what it represents. It’s a starting point. A way to bring people together around a problem that doesn’t get enough attention—and to begin building something that can grow far beyond a single event.
This work is just getting started. The need isn’t going anywhere—but neither is the momentum we’re beginning to see. If you’ve followed along, been part of these conversations, or experienced this situation firsthand, we would love to have you involved. However that looks— showing up, supporting, or simply sharing the message—it all moves this forward.
Together, we’re not just talking about the gap anymore. We’re starting to close it.
